2012 Porsche 911 - New Information

The new 911 (generation code 991) is reportedly slightly larger than the outgoing 997 model, with the wheelbase growing by 10mm. Overall, the car will grow by 56mm to a length of 4.49 meters. The width of the base 911 will remain the same, while the Carrera will grow 60mm wider, presumably to accommodate wider wheels and tires. Fuel economy is predicted to be about 26mpg. The standard 3.8 liter motor is expected to output 395hp, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. Porsche has managed to shave off 20kg of weight compared to the outgoing model. Expect to see the 2012 911 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011.
